We cater for all run abilities, from complete beginners to seasoned athletes.

Our main run sessions for both junior and seniors take place on Mondays at the top-quality running track at Leverhulme Park. Children and parents can train on the same night

All runners can benefit from track sessions, they will improve your aerobic capacity, speed and pace awareness.

If you struggle to motivate yourself to get out and run, especially on dark winter nights, then joining our run sessions may be a game-changer. Having company and encouragement from a coach during training sessions can elevate your performance to the next level as well as make training more enjoyable.

For seniors we have two coached training groups.

Neil’s group is for experienced runners of any level and they follow a progressive programme of interval training including a hill rep session in the park every fourth week.

Mark’s ‘tortoises’ group is ideal for novices and anyone aiming to build basic endurance and increase the distance they are able to run. Mark also includes some strength and conditioning in the sessions which helps with injury preventions. As a result, this is also a good recovery session for anyone who has done a tough event or a long bike ride at the weekend.

For juniors there are two run/bike groups on Mondays. The younger group is for ages 10 and under (the minimum age is 7) and the older group is for ages 10 up to 16. Older juniors ages 14 + also have the option of joining the senior run groups. The junior sessions include at least half an hour of running using various activities and games.

Besides track sessions members also organise ad hoc weekend road or trail runs.

The club also takes part in the Red Rose Cross Country League every year and we are affiliated to England Athletics
